Ron DeSantis has banned the use of the term "climate change" in his state, and meteorologist Steve MacLaughlin isn't happy about it.
"I live in Florida, where the governor has banned speaking the words 'climate change'well, at least when it comes to governmental affairs," MacLaughlin tells the Orlando Sentinel.
"We on the ground know what'll happen next to Steve MacLaughlin' he'll be out on his ass."
DeSantis, a Republican, says he's worried about the effects of climate change on the economy.
"I'm concerned about the effects of climate change on our economy," he says.
"I'm concerned about the effects of climate change on our children and our grandchildren."
MacLaughlin tells the Sentinel that he's worried about a repeat of what's happened in Texas, where Republican Gov.
Greg Abbott banned the use of the term "climate change" in his state last year.
In Maine, meanwhile, a city in the state is in the process of setting up a climate fund that will draw from renewable energy credits, reports CleanTechnica.
